How to Proceed and how much will it cost?

To make an enquiry and look at proceeding with our services, please just get in touch.

We are located in Staffordshire and the contact number is 07503 070722 with an email address of info@bestpracticefamilymediation.co.uk   Primarily we work remotely so the location is not an issue but let us discuss that with you and agree the best way to proceed.

To make an appointment to see Greig to discuss the mediation process with him further and undertake a Mediation Information Assessment Meeting (known as a MIAM) please contact us to make an appointment.

If you are happy to proceed, we will ask for contact details and will request photographic proof of identity, such as a passport or driving licence.   We will provide a referral form for you to complete and request the return of that and the identification ahead of the first meeting.

The costs of our services can vary depending on areas such as urgency, location and the nature of the case but the following are provided as a guide to assist your budgeting and planning:

  • Initial MIAM meeting - £95 per person

  • Joint Mediation meeting - £140 per person for 90 minutes

  • There are forms which may need to be completed during or at the conclusion of your case.  We will advise on these as we progress and what may be needed.  As a guide the cost for the completion of the forms that may be required are £120 - £160 per person.

  •

The fee for the relevant mediation meeting is payable in advance and can be paid via bank transfer.

We require 3 working days' notice for a cancellation. If the cancellation is less than 48 hours from the scheduled appointment, we are unable to refund the cost of the session and a new session fee will be charged upon rebooking.

Government Voucher Scheme

I will assess your individual case during the MIAM meeting to establish if you are eligible for the government voucher scheme, which provides £500 towards family mediation.

Essentially, if there is a child under 18 that will be impacted by the decisions you make, you are likely to be eligible for a voucher.  This even includes grandparents wishing to mediate with their child about a grandchild/ren.

We will apply for the voucher scheme on your behalf and this will entitle you to up to 3 hours of fully funded mediation.
